Employee Handbook v.2025
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS CODAC provides two Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) at no cost to employees and their families. These counseling programs are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are a confidential, safe, and easy-to-use resource. EAP counselors will help employees clarify their concerns, assess their situation and identify options to help them resolve problems. If you are in need of EAP services, please call Jorgensen/Brooks at 520.575.8622 or Mutal of Omaha at 800.316.2796 or https://www.mutualofomaha.com/eap/ . TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS CODAC encourages the continuing education and training of its employees by providing financial assistance for educational courses related to their jobs or careers. CODAC will reimburse up to a maximum of $3,000.00 within any one fiscal year (October – September) for education courses through an accredited college, university or technical college that are directly related to an employee's current position, that might lead to promotional opportunities for the employee, or for courses that are part of an approved degree or certificate program. This is a taxable benefit to employees. In order to be eligible for reimbursement, employees must receive a grade of "C" or its equivalent or must receive a certificate of satisfactory completion. Reimbursable expenses include tuition and registration fees, required textbooks or manuals, student and health fees, laboratory fees, quarterly or semester administrative fees and parking fees. An employee must be classified as a full-time employee and must not be on disciplinary probation status in order to qualify for educational assistance. A resignation or involuntary termination for cause automatically terminates an employee's eligibility for benefits under this plan. An employee wishing to take advantage of this program must obtain an application for education reimbursement prior to enrollment, complete it, and obtain approval from Human Resources. The completed application must be submitted to Human Resources at least 30 days prior to the day the course begins. This will ensure sufficient time to notify the employee of eligibility for reimbursement. SAFETY AND SECURITY WORKPLACE VIOLENCE The safety and security of employees is of vital importance to CODAC. Therefore, CODAC has adopted a zero-tolerance policy concerning workplace violence. Threats or acts of violence - including intimidation, bullying, physical or mental abuse and/or coercion - that involve or affect CODAC employees or that occur on CODAC’s premises will not be tolerated. The prohibition against threats and acts of violence applies to all persons involved in the operation of CODAC, including, but not limited to, CODAC employees and other personnel, contract and temporary workers, consultants, contractors, customers, vendors, visitors and anyone else on CODAC’s premises. Violations of this policy by an employee will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination from employment.
