ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH LICENSING The ADHS Division of Licensing Services licenses and monitors health and childcare facilities and providers throughout Arizona. According to the ADHS Web site, licensing inspections, on-site surveys, and complaint investigations are conducted to promote quality care and safety and ensure that performance standards are met for facility operation and maintenance. ADHS Division of Licensing Mission Statement: To protect the health and safety of Arizonans by providing information, establishing standards, and licensing and regulating health and childcare services. CODAC services are licensed through the Arizona Department of Health (ADHS) medical and residential facilities bureau(s). The Bureau(s) of Medical & Residential Facilities Licensing licenses and certifies medical health care and residential institutions and providers of medical and residential services. CODAC is required to adhere to all licensure requirements. The governing rules and regulations include but are not limited to the Arizona Revised Statues (ARS) Title 36 Public Health and Safety regulations and the Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R9-10 Health Care Institutions Licensing. Many policies and procedures are designed to ensure that CODAC is compliant with these and other regulatory requirements. It is imperative that personnel are familiar with policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Should an onsite survey or complaint investigation occur please involve CODAC’s Quality Management (QM) department as soon as possible so that they may assist with coordinating the review. FUNDERS CODAC is contracted with a variety of public and private funders. Funding for services is most often through a contract with health insurance payors and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). The vast majority of CODAC’s members are covered by Arizona’s Medicaid Plan, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). There are three major AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) managed care organizations in the Southern Arizona region: • Arizona Complete Health (AzCH) • Banner University Health Plans (BUHP) • United Health Care (UHC).
