• Recruiting and staffing • Compensation and benefits • Labor and employee relations • Organizational development • Ensuring CODAC is in compliance with state and federal employment practices and laws Addressing current employee concerns: Unlike your role as a supervisor overseeing the day-to-day work of employees, the HR department deals with employee concerns such as benefits, pay, employee investments, pension plans, and select training. They may also assist with settling conflicts between employees or between employees and their managers. Acquiring new employees : Human Resource recruits’ potential employees, oversees the hiring process (background checks, drug testing, etc.), and participates in the new employee orientation under the direction of the Quality Management department. Managing the employee separation process: The HR department must complete and coordinates a specific set of tasks if an employee resigns, is terminated, or is laid off. Paperwork must be completed to ensure that the process was completed legally. The off-boarding process may include but is not limited to ensuring that benefits are settled, access to company resources (IT accounts) must be severed via the collection of keys, badges, computers, or sensitive materials.
