a. Parking space - when something comes up that's not relevant to the discussion at hand "park" it in the parking space (a large sheet of paper on the wall, or notes section of the meeting minutes) and deal with it at an appropriate later time. This allows you to stay focused but reassures participants they will be heard 4. Create a safe and empowering atmosphere to get the best contribution from everyone. 5. Record or note attendance, and outcomes of team meeting. It is recommended that you utilize the Microsoft Teams platform and download each team meeting to be saved in a section of the R drive for easy retrieval. This is also meets CARF requirements as it’s a form of documenting. Below is a sample agenda you may use at your team meetings; please ensure you are saving a copy and have access to it: Sample Team Meeting Agenda on SharePoint If you are not recording the meeting, decide how you will communicate the information shared to employees that were not able to attend. 6. Put a stop to domineering, interrupting, put-downs, and guilt trips. If you have an member who is combative, do not be afraid to remain calm and refocus the conversation on the aim. 7. Summarize discussed topics and decisions at the end of your meeting: A succinct and accurate summary of what has been said so far can be helpful. Outline the emerging common ground as well as the unresolved differences: For example: "it seems like we've almost reached agreement on that element of the proposal, but we need to explore this part further to address everyone's concerns." Check with everyone that you've got it right. Decide on frequency. While a standing meeting is helpful, please do not feel the need to meet if you have no topics to discuss. COMPETENCY CHECKLIST(S) What is a competency? A competency is the criteria established for the adequate skills, knowledge and capacity required to perform a specific set of job functions.
